We invest in programs that uplift Latino entrepreneurs, empower future leaders, and create pathways for generational prosperity across South Omaha. Our newest initiatives reflect a deep commitment to inclusive growth and local capacity building—nurturing a strong, inclusive, and culturally rich future for our community.
Adelante Youth ACtivators Program
Launching in 2025, the Adelante Youth Activators Program will engage 60 Latino high school students and 20 first-generation college students in the redevelopment and activation of Plaza de la Raza in South Omaha. Rooted in cultural pride and community leadership, this youth-led initiative offers hands-on learning, mentorship, and career exploration in city planning, economic development, and civic engagement. activators will lead outreach efforts, gather community input, and co-create programming that reflects the rich heritage of South Omaha. Through this program, we aim to cultivate the next generation of Latino leaders, equipping them with the tools to preserve heritage and drive meaningful change in Omaha and beyond.
United Hispanic Contractors
United Hispanic Contractors is a program designed to equip Latino and bilingual construction professionals with the tools to grow and thrive. Serving contractors and employees across the Omaha metro area, we offer targeted educational and business development resources. Through this program, LEDC is investing in the strength of Latino-owned construction businesses—creating pathways to economic mobility, generational wealth, and a more inclusive local economy.

Rise Up
South Omaha
Rise Up South Omaha is community-driven initiative coordinated by LEDC that engages volunteers in quarterly outdoor service projects to enhance the South Omaha Business District. These projects aim to beautify the area, such as planting seasonal flowers and repairing fences. Open to volunteers 14 and older, this program fosters community pride, strengthens local ties, and celebrates the vibrancy of South Omaha.
